This journey begins with you...
If there is one place on the face of earth where all the dreams of living men have found a home from the very earliest days when man began the dream of existence, it is India.
– Romain Rolland (French Philosopher)

![]() My name is Jaipreet Kaur and I will be leading you on this retreat. Born and raised in Calgary and now settled in Vancouver, I have been travelling to India for most of my life. I am a Kundalini Yoga & meditation teacher. I look forward to taking you on this journey into the heart of compassion.
For the first 4 days we will be in the city of Amritsar. The holy city of Amritsar was founded by Guru Ram Das Ji (The 4th Sikh Guru) in 1574. Guru Ram Das represents service, compassion, love and humility. It is here where the home of Guru Ram Das, Siri Harimandir Sahib (The Golden Temple) resides. We will immerse ourselves by making daily trips to the Golden Temple, where we will dip into the sacred holy waters (optional), meditate, serve and learn about its rich history. This is a place of deep healing and love. On our 5th and 6th days, we will travel to the holy city of Anandpur Sahib, where we will spend two nights before heading to Dharamshala. While in Anandpur we'll be staying at the home of Yogi Bhajan, where we will be practicing Kundalini Yoga and meditation. After breakfast on day 7 we will begin the journey to Dharamshala. Days 7 to 10 will be in Dharmshala. Nestled in the base of the Himalayan mountains, Dharamshala is the Home of His Holiness The Dalai Lama in India. We will be spending time at the Temple of the Dalai Lama. I will know closer to the date if His Holiness will be residing at his residence and we may possibly have a chance to meet with him. The Dalai Lama has committed his life to spreading compassion, tolerance, forgiveness and self discipline. Each day we will practice Kundalini Yoga and a special meditation on compassion. The theme of this trip came from a journey I was on in Dharamshala in March of 2017. I had the great blessing of spending time at the Dalai Lama’s Temple for seven days and even got to see the Dalai Lama himself. At that moment, all I could feel was the love of Guru Ram Das and one word came to my mind... Compassion. Compassion lives everywhere. Compassion is a nectar that flows deep within our hearts. Once we tune into this universal flow within us, it is then that we can align with the journey of our soul. It is not specific to a certain time - it is every moment - consciously choosing love over fear, choosing to see the light in the darkness & cultivating an unwavering faith deep inside. Knowing that at any time you can access your true self and the pure light within you! Let the branches of compassion reach all and serve all. I hope you will join me on this beautiful journey... ...a journey into the Heart of Compassion |
